Leading Gutter Protection System Proven Effective for Mosquito Vector Control
MOONACHIE, NEW JERSEY (May 31, 2009) – Based on the findings of a recent scientific study along with years of experience with dealers, distributors and end-users, Monzi, Inc. has now certified the use of its industry-leading Leaf Defier® family of products to include the prevention of insect infestation and breeding.
In recent months, Dr. Eugene J. Gerberg, a world renowned consulting entomologist, confirmed these attributes through the performance of a controlled study. This study, held at Bientco, a leading national biological and entomological firm based in Gainesville, Florida showed NO SIGN in development of larveae and pupae in the Leaf Defier protected gutter.
During this study, approximately 50 eggs of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes were sprinkled positioned on a Leaf Defier-protected gutter A, while approximately 50 additional eggs were placed on dead leaves positioned in gutter B – with no Leaf Defier. Water was then poured into both gutters, which were examined nearly two weeks later. The results showed the development of larvae and pupae in gutter B yet NO SIGN of either larvae or pupae in the Leaf Defier-protected gutter A.
As a result, Monzi now certifies its Leaf Defier® family of products as a proven mosquito vector control method for gutters. This has been achieved by Monzi through the combined use of its patents pending and proprietary:
